Home practice missions for speech therapy patients

Between two sessions, Vocametrix lets you send your patients voice and speech exercises they do at home, in the browser. Each exercise is a mission: you choose the game and its settings, the patient finds it in their account, and once it is done its result appears in your patient list.

Link a patient to your account

The adult patient creates a Vocametrix account and enters your email address as their speech therapist. For a child, the parent creates the account, adds the child and enters your email address. The patient or the child then appears on your My Patients page.

Choose the exercise and its settings

Four games can be assigned as missions. Word Pronunciation: a list of words, each scored for pronunciation, with a pass threshold from 50 to 95 %, 1 to 5 attempts per word, words shown as a picture, as text or both, and an optional note for the parents. Repeat It: a sentence you write, which the patient repeats, with a colour-blind mode. Match Rhythm: a tempo from 60 to 160 BPM. Crystal Resonance: a target pitch from 100 to 500 Hz. You also choose how many times the exercise is to be done; each one is a separate mission.

The patient practises at home

The patient finds their missions in their profile and starts each one with a click; a parent finds those of their child. A new mission appears on screen as soon as the patient is signed in. Everything runs in the web browser with the device's microphone, with nothing to install.

Follow the results between sessions

Once a mission is done, it is marked as completed with its result: the pronunciation score for Word Pronunciation, the stars earned for Repeat It, the share of time held on the target pitch for Crystal Resonance and the tempo reached for Match Rhythm. Your My Patients page lists every mission with its status and result, and can be filtered by patient.

Languages

Word Pronunciation and Repeat It are available in 29 language variants, among them French (France and Canada), English (United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and India), Spanish (Spain and Mexico), German and Brazilian Portuguese. A new mission starts in your interface language when the games support it. Match Rhythm and Crystal Resonance use no words.

Measure the voice as well

The same account gives access to the voice assessment and the acoustic calculators, to measure the voice before and after a period of practice.

Pricing

Access to the site is a monthly subscription. Every account starts with a 7-day trial once its email address is verified, with no card required.

Frequently asked questions

Which exercises can I assign?

Word Pronunciation, Repeat It, Match Rhythm and Crystal Resonance, each with its own settings: words or sentence, language, pass threshold, tempo or target pitch.

Can I assign missions to a child?

Yes. The parent adds the child to their account and enters your email address; the missions then appear in the parent's account, under the child's tasks.

Does the patient pay for the missions?

The patient plays from their own account, and missions use it like any other tool on the site: free during the trial, then the patient needs Voca Credits or a subscription to keep going. For a child, it is the parent's account.

How do I know whether the patient practised?

Each mission shows on your My Patients page as pending or completed, with its result once completed.

Does the patient need to install anything?

No. The missions run in a web browser on a device with a microphone.
