Media File Handling

Your privacy is paramount when you upload audio files to our platform:

  • Anonymization and Conversion: When you upload an audio/video file, it is immediately anonymized by renaming it with a random identifier (e.g., "file-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.wav" where "xxxx" represents random characters and numbers). Your original file (like "timmo_speech_sample.mp3") is deleted immediately after conversion to protect your privacy.
  • Secure Temporary Storage: Your anonymized files are stored in our encrypted European cloud server only for the duration of analysis (typically a few seconds). These files are inaccessible to unauthorized personnel and are automatically deleted immediately after processing is complete.
  • Automatic Cleanup System: As an additional security measure, we've implemented an hourly cleanup process that removes any files that may not have been deleted immediately after processing, ensuring no audio data remains on our servers.
  • No Third-Party Sharing: We guarantee that your files are not shared with third parties or used outside of the specified analyses.
  • Limited Use of External Services: For specialized analysis such as transcription or pronunciation assessment, we use GDPR-compliant third-party services. When this occurs, your anonymized files are shared securely, processed immediately, and then promptly deleted from their servers in accordance with strict privacy standards.

Sharing Your Information

We may disclose aggregated information about our users (information that does not identify any individual) without restriction.

However, we will only disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:

  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, in which personal information held by us about our users is among the assets transferred.
